As you can tell by the head scratch and awkward smile, evangelism can be an uncomfortable topic for most Christians. This is especially the case in the UK were there is millennial flight and there has been a large reduction in church attendance over the last few decades.
My answer to it is to start with yourself. Be a disciple. "A disciple is not above his teacher, but everyone who is perfectly trained will be like his teacher" - Luke 6:40.
Our teacher should be Jesus. Jesus spent most of His time in large crowds speaking to people, educating them on the word of God. He engaged with people that did not believe in Him or His Father or who challenged Him with their own ideas of who they thought God was. Yet he was always filled with peace, love and a desire to save everyone, no matter the circumstance. He interacted with people who were in desperate need to know God and His teachings. He was in many environments and He was the change within them, rather than letting the environments change Him.
To evangelize we must be disciples and be easily approachable. Our character should always show compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience (Colossians 3:12) so we can help others who wish to grow in Christ.
