Many people who I meet in the art world are confused about what I do. I’ll address this in more detail soon, but for now, I’ll say that I work full-time in the field of arts and culture and I get to paint when I’m not doing that. Today was one of my biggest events of the year, the annual Celebrating Empowered Women Luncheon.
One important caveat I spoke about today is that we do not have to look outside ourselves to be empowered. It is most often the women sitting next to us where we can find the most exceptional inspiration. These empowering women are in our community and they are all of us.
We ended today’s event with this: “Bring a bucket of water and throw it on the fire, and if you don’t have a bucket, bring a glass, and if you don’t have a glass, use a teaspoon. Everyone had a teaspoon. And yes, I know a teaspoon is little and the fire is huge but there are millions of us and each one of us has a teaspoon.” -Amos Oz
Thank you to all who show up with your teaspoon every single day. You keep me going.
