You will always struggle as long as you fight change!
If you are fighting to keep your blood sugars stable, maybe it's time to try something new.
There are a myriad of daily choices that can affect diabetes symptoms. However, there are tools that you can use to manage those symptoms.
Healthy nutrition is always key, and incorporating nutrient-dense foods and limiting processed and packaged foods will make a big difference. Starting your day with a healthy breakfast of protein, healthy fats, fiber, and greens will help you elongate the blood sugar curve.
Stress plays a big role in blood sugar numbers. Finding tools for your toolbox to help manage your stress, whether that is yoga, meditation, or breath work, may help your body produce less cortisol, which could lead to a decrease in insulin.
Exercise is medicine! Use it to your advantage and find something that you enjoy doing!
I recommend to all of my clients to keep a journal to observe the ways that food, stress, and exercise patterns influence their blood sugar levels. Sometime just writing down the numbers and reflecting back on them will improve your management of diabetes.
Most importantly, pay special attention to your mindset. Start embracing, focusing, loving, and acknowledging the great diabetes moments, no matter how small. I promise you with each week that you journal, you will have a better understanding of how strong you are, how resilient you are, and how capable you are!
