I interrupt our Christmas theme, to share with you all the ‘thing’ I’ve been working on! @lumi_lane_photography
For as long as I can remember I have loved photography. Growing up, my favourite pass time was dressing my little sister up, thank you @melindabaxter, staging poses and taking photos on my vintage film camera. I took the photography class as many times as possible in high school and gained work experience with local photographers. I’ve booked myself and our family in with over twenty amazing photographers over the years. I roam around daily taking photos.
This year, I further studied photography, after having my light bulb moment that photography sets my soul on fire. My husband had gently suggested a career in photography over ten years, but I like to think one week of journalling unraveled it all.
To kick things off, as I went to purchase equipment for my new venture, I entered an iPhone photo I had taken, in a photography competition and won the $5,000 first prize! Allowing me to purchase the camera and lens of my dreams. I’ll be taking photos forever and would love to share my passion with you.
My approach to capturing a photo has changed over the years. I no longer push posed photos, preferring to capture authentic moments as they happen, playing, laughing, cuddling, tickling, twirling, splashing and having fun. A story teller at heart, romanticising small moments, capturing memories.
I love exploring locations, but living in Victoria, you can never predict the weather, with help from my husband we are creating an in-home studio, which will be complete mid January.
Let’s go on an adventure and create a little magic.
