Not pictured: white vans on my feet 😋
My family celebrates the annual Satyanarayan Puja to bring peace, happiness and prosperity for the year to come. ⠀⠀
Hinduism is not as much of a religion as it is a lifestyle embedded in joy, growth and respect. It's what you make of it. What started as a worship of nature and its bounties evolved into a worship of the everyday life. Every part of India celebrates and interprets Hinduism in its own way. In my family, it is a way of reminding us of what’s important- we follow Ma Saraswati, the Goddess of Knowledge, Ma Durga, the Goddess of Strength and Ma Lakshmi, the Goddess of Wealth. Celebrating these elements have instilled a deep understanding and respect for the power they bring to our lives and the growth that comes with it. Because of this, I strongly believe that an education is the most powerful tool anybody can have.
I'm not religious by any means but it was interesting to see how these values shaped me over the years. To all my Hindu friends, I'd love to hear your perspective about Hinduism someday and what it means to you 😊
