Now that I've potted my "Corona '59" pickups, I'm stuffing them into my No. 1. My No. 1 is named "Rosie," and I've had her since I was 13. A completely non-exciting, mid-1990s Mexican Strat. Over the years, I've hot-rodded and tinkered with her, but long before I knew what I would be making my home in the rabbit hole that is luthierie. I last modded her in 2009, replacing the stock Mexican single coils (GARBAGE) with a set of first-generation Fender "Vintage Noiseless" Strat pickups (also kind of meh...). I didn't change the stock MIM electronics, however and have never been satisfied with how she sounded.
That will change in the next few days! I will be upgrading the electronics to CTS pots, Orange Drop caps and treble-bleed circuit, my pickups of course, and upgrading to a set of Gotoh vintage-style tuners from @stewmac_guitar . I swear, one third of everything in my house came from StewMac... I can't wait to get Rosie back together and share the glory of hand-wound pickups with you all!
