IRRITABLE BOWEL SYNDROME (a.k.a. sensitive tummy) Approximately 15% of the population have Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS). IBS is characterised by having a ‘sensitive tummy’ which can cause bloating, abdominal pain, excess wind, constipation, diarrhoea and alternating bowel habits. Currently, the cause of IBS is unknown, however there are several factors that can contribute to an IBS attack including: ➡️FOOD INTOLERANCES 🍯🍎🍐 the most common being a group of sugars that are poorly absorbed by the body ➡️ FIBRE 🌽 a diet low in fibre can cause constipation, bloating and general abdominal discomfort ➡️ Excess consumption of “IRRITANT” foods which are: foods/meals high in fat 🍕, spicy foods 🌶, alcohol 🍾 and caffeine ☕️ ➡️ MEDICATIONS 💊 certain types (such as painkillers or analgesics) may exacerbate diarrhoea or constipation. ➡️ STRESS 😫 stress and anxiety can have an effect on the nerves in your bowel which can speed up the rate of gastric emptying causing diarrhoea. Many people suffer from IBS and all have different triggers and symptoms. Especially when I hear it from men. It’s the lamest possible copout to avoid a challenge, in my not so humble opinion. Bro, you don’t even have what it takes to get big if you don’t desperately want to. I (and many others) have spent years trying to get “too big”. It doesn’t happen by accident. Also, all those men and women that look grossly huge to you? There are often PEDs (performance enhancing drugs) involved. Just don’t use them and you’ll be fine. Ladies, you do not have the same muscle structure or the testosterone levels men do. You can train, get really strong, and still never look manly. Women who lift get toned. It gives you shape. Want a nice butt? You best be doing tons of squats, lunges, and thrusters and you better use some damned weight.
