This is probably the most detailed and documented trip I’ve ever had! I was asked how do I work on my travel journals, I try to do it “on the go”, no matter how tired I am, I squeeze in at least 5 minutes to stick something or write something down... all the rest, are finalized when I am finally back home... to be completely honest, it’s been 5 days now since I got back and I am still working on this journal. My best tip: stationery shopping is a personal priority, it brings in that extra energy to work on a page if I have new toys to play with, I try to bring sticky notes to write down highlights of the day to help me remember what I want to put in my travel journal, I also curate ephemera to bring with me - it makes a good filler and prompt, it’s super helpful whenever I run out of creative ideas. Instax printer is a bonus, it brings more life to what I am trying to describe in my writing. Lastly, I keep adapting a much more forgiving approach. It doesn’t bother me that much if I don’t do it in the right sequence. Sometimes, I forgot to write about a certain event and only remember it 2 or 3 days after, it’s okay... since I try to do a recap of highlights in the last few pages. What I hope I can do more in the future is to journal with watercolor... have you been doing travel journals? Can you share how you do it?
