Freedom, flexibility, passion-based business
This could have remained just a vision if I hadn’t taken the decision to materialize it just over 10 months ago.
One decision - that was all it took to embark on a new path, which was more aligned with what I truly wanted. BUT my business did not take off as quickly as I envisioned it to.
The first coaching programme I launched flopped.
I had moved to a new country and, had I decided to look for a job, I would have needed a work permit which wasn’t easily obtainable.
I was living on my savings.
And I no longer had clarity on who exactly I wanted to serve through my business and how. You know that feeling when you really want to move forward but you feel you can’t because you have NO CLARITY and this is keeping you stuck? This was exactly how I felt in June this year.
Coming back to London (where I used to live) and starting a new job WAS NOT an option.
So I started from scratch. I coached for FREE. On a topic that was the client’s choice, not mine. I got my clients results. More and more clients started coming to me purely through word of mouth. I 10 x my hourly rate compared to what I was earning in my full-time job.
And, most importantly, I gained CLARITY. Through EXPERIENCE. But not only this.
I developed resilience, resourcefulness, the ability to focus mainly on what I wanted and handle emotional setbacks (which preserved my energy so that I could invest it in my goals).
I learnt new skills that I am now able to teach my clients and deliver even more value through my work.
My vision expanded.
So, is “failure” really such a bad and scary thing? Only if you “emotionalise” it too much instead of focusing on the opportunities it brings.
Curious to know - what failures have you overcome and made the most of?
