Don’t tell her you love her,
she knows you don’t
Don’t tell her she’s as warm as flames,
for she knows she’s frozen
Don’t tell her you’re the lone wolf,
she knows already that you won’t stay for anything less than the moon
Don’t tell her that you aren’t her kind of love,
her love didn’t let her judge you on parameters
Don’t tell her there are many like you,
she’s seen many but loved you
Don’t tell her you might love sometime later,
she knows she isn’t the one
Don’t make her believe that you are a phase,
she knows it’s love
Or maybe, say anything in the entire universe, but break her ice
Tell her stories that she might feed her soul on
Write her letters that help her pamper her love
Write anything if not love,
Let her know that you exist
Let her know that, if not she, her love is worth that bit.
That poet soul needs to know you exist, somewhere in her world
Let her patronize the eyes and soul she fancies
She calls you poetry, let her talk to you like one.
Allow that retro, cliché lover of yours to stay
Don’t push her naïve, classic love into the flames of today’s mortal affection.
Help her stay, even if you are destined to pass by.
Maybe, she is tired of falling deeper into absolute vacuum and calling it the depth of your eyes. - Nazneen
