Time. Honestly, who feels like they have a wealth of it just stashed for a rainy day? no one. I repeat, no one.
You know the struggle- daycare drop off's, have to get milk, quick catch up on the street with a mate in front of the IGA, back in the car, "shit I had a great idea for that campaign, what was it again?" keep driving, work time, phone rings, oh right doctors apt reminder, "Ill go write that on the calendar", standing at calendar "Ill make a quick cuppa" - commence working again, hustle hard, day ends.
Who knows the pain of having the day run away from you? time is important, and we aren't that lucky to have an abundance of it so here are a few tips to help you organise your time better.
PLAN- organise your day, the day before! Have your list ready to tackle, and guys, let's make it realistic. You feel much more accomplished if you add to your list at the end of the day, rather than fall short.
SET REMINDERS- use your phone as tool. Set reminders throughout the day, and make sure they include treating your self. I'm talking reminders that say: 10:00am coffee break 10:15am back to work.
TRACK YOUR TIME- Your time is valuable, so track it! It doesn't matter if you work for yourself, clock time for other people, or work in the corporate world- know where your time is going. Toggl is a great app which allows you to do this, and categorise it into projects. (it's also free.)
LET GO- Really struggling? reach out to someone, and ask for help. There are people out there that can make your day a lot easier. We weren't all programmed as bookkeepers, or mechanics, so let's allow those people to do their job and help us, while we thrive at the good stuff.
HEADSPACE- let me guess, you don't meditate, I'm not surprised, but you should. Get yourself this app and reserve 5 minutes every night to calm your mind.
Remember you are the most important, so if nothing else make sure you take some time for you.
With Love, 𝘉.
