✨🎉It’s Launch Day in Dublin.🎉✨
Almost 4 years ago to the day, on 22.11.2015, we started Nu. We had seen first hand what the fashion industry was doing to people and the environment and we were searching for alternatives that allowed us to enjoy fashion without doing harm. It was frustrating and hard to find options, especially on a tight budget. .
At the time we had no idea what Nu would become or how we could change an industry so vast, exploitive and deliberately opaque. But I’m so glad that, bright-eyed and bushy-tailed🦊 we had the courage (or naivety) to start something. .
We shared clothes. All. The. Time. Nights out, nights in, interviews, events, winter jackets. We just rotated wardrobes naturally. And guess what, the solution we’d been looking for was something we already did! The easier we could make this, the more we could share, the less we could collectively buy and the lower our fashion impact would be! .
And so, Nu was born - we didn’t jump straight to our clothes-sharing app…. (obviously... since we’re doing this launch 4 YEARS LATER!!) We started with Swap Shops in the basement of @wigwamdublin and alongside our wonderful Dublin community of women, we began building a new vision for fashion. .
Tonight we come back to Wigwam, to Launch The Nu Wardrobe App, at home, in Dublin. (@thenuwardrobe_dublin) And the feels are real. 😭🤗🙌💃
Thanks to all of you, for all of the love and for building Nu with us. We’ve only just begun!💚
